Recurrences of genital herpes vary from person to person in frequency. Some will never experience an outbreak again, while others may have milder recurrences more than 6 times a year. Recurrent episodes are less severe and are limited to the affected area. Recurrences of Type 1 infection can occur on any site but they are most frequently on the face, particularly on the lips (‘herpes simplex labialis’). However, here are some tips on how to cure genital herpes.
1. Lemon balm is a great wash for the genital area. Lemon balm actually possesses anti-viral properties. The fragrant leaves the flowering tops of this herb helps to speed the passage of the lesions. To make this wash, you need one half cup of boiling water. It is also recommended that you pour the boiling water over two to three teaspoons of finely cut leaves. You can find these leaves in just about any health food store. Let this steep for 20 to 30 minutes. You then strain it. You'll want to have a clean cotton cloth available and saturate the cloth with the lemon balm wash. You should apply the wash to the herpes lesions three to four times a day.
2. There are several teas - composed of a combination of herbs - that may help you control your herpes. If you're interested in any of the following recommendations, don't hesitate to visit your local health food store to obtain the herbs. The first tea is for a general strengthening of your immune system. This particular brew can be taken daily with no adverse affects. It consists of astrugalus, Echinacea hawthorn, peppermint and spearmint. It is called "The Four-Ginseng Tea". It not only enhances the immune system, but helps to fight infections and strengthen the reproductive and adrenal glands, as well.
3. Since many believe that stress plays a crucial role in the outbreak of genital herpes, chamomile tea helps reduce overall stress levels. It's created from chamomile, rose hip, catnip, alfalfa, skullcap, hops, vervain, wild lettuce, passion flower and lemon verbena.
